Kidoriman · Hiring Brief

eCommerce Operations
Specialist

Prepared for Adi Gonen
Co-Owner, Operations
May 2026

This is not a developer and not a growth marketer. It's the person who sits between strategy and execution — keeps the store running clean, owns the technical layer of customer operations, and systematically tests what moves revenue.

What They Own

Website A/B Testing
Core
Own the ongoing website testing program end-to-end. Run PDP tests, landing page variants, CTA tests, layout changes, checkout flow experiments. Set up, document results, kill losers, scale winners. Proactively identify what to test next — not waiting to be told.
Bundles & Offers
Core
Create and manage new bundles when needed. Build GWP offers, free gift thresholds, BOGO logic. Proactively suggests new bundle structures based on what's performing. Maintains and updates existing logic without founder involvement.
Store Setup & Merchandising
Operational
Collection page order, product visibility, upsell/cross-sell placements, navigation updates, seasonal rotations. No design work — just operational setup.
Bug Fixes & QA
Core
Own a running bug log. Test every page on mobile and desktop after deployments. Catch broken links, checkout issues, discount code errors, image mismatches. First line of defense before things go live or get worse.
Customer-Reported Tech Issues
Core
First responder for any operational complaint that comes through CX: bundle not applying, discount code failing, checkout erroring, wrong product in confirmation. Owns the diagnosis and fix — not just the escalation. Works with the CX team to catch patterns before they become volume.
Gorgias Flows & Automations
Core
Own the logic layer in Gorgias. Build and adjust auto-responses, routing rules, tagging logic, macros, and satisfaction triggers. When the CX team flags something isn't routing correctly or a flow fires wrong — this person fixes it, no hand-holding needed.
App Management & Recommendations
Operational
Own the full app stack. Know what's installed, what's costing money, and what's conflicting. Handles new app installations when needed. Proactively recommends new tools if they see a gap — with a clear reason and a cost/benefit view. Not a passive maintainer. Escalate to a developer only when something genuinely requires code.

Who to Hire

The Right Person

A Shopify-native operator who's worked at a small DTC brand and had to wear multiple hats. Comfortable in the Shopify admin, theme editor, and basic Liquid. Has used Gorgias or a similar helpdesk at an operational level — not just as a ticket agent. Klaviyo familiarity is a bonus.

Not This Person

  • A freelance developer
  • A growth consultant
  • Someone who wants to own strategy
  • A basic VA with no DTC context
Upwork Search "Shopify CRO" or "eCommerce operations specialist"
LinkedIn Search "Shopify specialist" or "eComm ops coordinator"
DTC Slack DTCx, BDSS communities — ops talent posts there regularly

Expected Salary by Market

Philippines
Strong Shopify + Gorgias talent pool · EST +12
Part-time $8–15/hr · ~$500–1,200/mo
Full-time $1,200–1,800/mo
Target Range $1,200–1,600/mo full-time
Argentina
Strong technical talent · Closer to EST timezone
Part-time $12–20/hr · ~$800–1,600/mo
Full-time $1,500–2,500/mo
Target Range $1,800–2,500/mo full-time
Given the scope of this role — Shopify ops, Gorgias automations, A/B testing, CX triage — this is not a basic VA. Both markets have strong options. Philippines gives more budget headroom. Argentina gives better timezone overlap and often stronger initiative on technical problem-solving.

Capacity & Reporting

Start
Part-Time Contract
15–20 hrs/week. Evaluate fit before committing to full-time.
If It Works
Full-Time + Kicker
Base + performance bonus tied to test velocity or conversion improvements. Aligns them to outcomes, not hours logged.
Reporting
Ofri or Adi
Weekly async Loom update. Shared bug log. Monthly test debrief.

What Good Looks Like at 90 Days

Bug log exists and stays under 5 open items
At least 2 completed A/B tests with documented results
Bundle logic is live and not breaking checkout
Gorgias flows are audited, cleaned up, and documented
Customer-reported tech issues resolved within 24 hours — no founder involvement required
Founder hasn't touched the Shopify admin for routine tasks in 6 weeks

The One Risk

Don't Let This Role Become a Ticket-Taker

The good ones want a backlog to manage and a scoreboard to beat — not a Slack inbox to drain. Give them a KPI from day one: conversion rate, AOV, issue resolution time, or test velocity. Hold them to it. Ownership is what separates a great ops hire from an expensive assistant.

Japanese-inspired menswear · kidoriman.com

We're Hiring: eCommerce Operations Specialist (Remote · Part-Time to Full-Time)

Kidoriman is a fast-growing Japanese-inspired menswear brand based in the US. We're looking for a sharp, Shopify-native ops person to help us run and grow the store — technically and systematically.

This isn't a developer role. And it's not a VA role. It's the person who sits between strategy and execution — someone who catches problems before customers do, keeps our tech stack healthy, and runs experiments that actually move revenue.

What you'll own:

  • Ongoing website A/B testing (PDPs, CTAs, landing pages, checkout)
  • Bundle creation and offer logic in Shopify
  • Gorgias flows, automations, routing rules, and macros
  • Customer-reported technical issues — diagnosis and fix, not just escalation
  • Bug tracking and QA across the full store
  • App stack management — installs, audits, and proactive recommendations
  • General store setup: collections, merchandising, seasonal updates

What we're looking for:

  • Shopify experience — admin, theme editor, basic Liquid
  • Gorgias or similar helpdesk at an operational level (not just ticket-answering)
  • DTC brand background — you've worn multiple hats before
  • Self-directed — you manage a backlog, not a Slack inbox
  • Klaviyo familiarity is a plus

We start part-time (15–20 hrs/week) with a clear path to full-time for the right person. Open to candidates in the Philippines, Argentina, or anywhere with strong overlap to US Eastern hours.

If this sounds like work you've done before and want more ownership of — send a short note about your background and one Shopify store you've worked on to hi@kidoriman.com
